Love how Terry Fator pops in to congratulate Darci! On Stage show in Las Vegas this November Darci will be joined in the show by Season 12 runner-up Angelica Hale, third place finisher Light Balance, and top 10 finalist Preacher Lawson. But for now, something has come to my attention I think might make for some interesting discussion. Right after the Season 11 finale last year, Sophie who you may remember from the livestream we did together last week posted the following theory on Reddit:.
Now, ventriloquism — let alone singing ventriloquism — is not the most common talent. And yes, at this rate I do think the show has a good chance of sticking around for that long. Ratings were UP this season; that almost never happens in television these days!
Season 3: Neal E. Her package might actually have been more of a selling point than the song itself, but it was still a very solid performance loved the inclusion of sign language! Angelica Hale: Color me shocked that the judges actually criticized her a bit last night-I thought she was pretty much untouchable in that regard by this point-but this was still a nice way to end off the night. While I could have done without the name-dropping of a national tragedy I want them out tonight for that alone the Armed Forces mean a lot to many people, especially in America.
Like Angelica, she got a pretty positive response from the judges, with only a few minor critiques. I mean, if Eric could go second last week and still end up there, so can Colin, right? Kechi: After her whole segment I penciled her in for top 3, but then a funny thing happened. And this is about someone who I believe has gotten the pimp spot for all three of her previous performances, and a decent one near the end last night. Not cool, technicians! It was very abstract and circus-esque, which seemed to be strongly appealing for some viewers myself included and a total turn-off to others.
This first group of Semi-Finalists was clearly the weaker one on paper, but some of them really upped their game, and I think tonight turned out to be the best live show of the season yet since the first Quarter-Final. There will also be one more Wildcard later on in the season; an act that is eliminated in the Quarter-Finals but brought back for the Semi-Finals. I think if he had been in one of the first two Judge Cuts groups he would have easily advanced another issue to discuss at a later date but keep in mind that the Judge Cuts episodes were filmed before any of the initial auditions had even aired on TV.
Daniel Ferguson: Tell me if this strikes you as familiar: a quirky guy auditions for AGT with a fairly unique act which ends up going viral online. He then returns for Judge Cuts and is called up at the end alongside a stand-up comedian, then gets eliminated and is visibly emotional about it. The judges seemed to like him, and the audience did too, so I think he has a shot at coming back.
I still think Tom is more likely though because there was more of an outcry when he got cut than when Jeki did. Jay Jay Phillips: This may seem kind of random, especially since he was another act whose Judge Cuts performance got montaged. So right now, my plan is to only discuss backstories if they are relevant to the actual acts the competitors are performing.
And, of course, like last year, please keep in mind that the order the acts appear on this list reflects what I think the majority of the audience will think, not necessarily my own personal opinions. Angelica Hale: Charming child? Tragic backstory? Powerful voice? However, this guy along with Puddles and the very brief montage with clips of the other magicians was the saving grace of the second night.
For that reason, I see him going pretty far. Yoli has an amazing voice going for her-though I think she was over-singing quite a bit in her latest performance-as well as a backstory a lot of people can relate to. Just Jerk Dance Crew: This was my favorite act of the first Judge Cuts show and, like Demian, I think being one of the few acts of their kind this season is probably going to be a bit of an asset.
Not much else to say right now. The Masqueraders: I was happy to see these guys get through, and was pleasantly surprised to see that quite a few others were rooting pretty hard for them! Singing Trump: I actually thought he stepped up his game quite a bit in the Judge Cuts, and I think I would have also sent him through.
However, there is a big problem with getting political on this show. Hello for the second time this week! Hey all!
The tango group was nice, but not particularly interesting. Seems to be a lot of repeated songs lately; I think they might have a list the auditionees have to pick from. I tuned out of the backstory sorry but she has a nice voice and all. So we got a full five-minute segment of a child singer with a tragic backstory but the unique and exciting acts get relegated to a montage.
Sounds about right. Oh wow. Truly something I could see in Vegas. Fun dance act with the animation to bring us back from commercial break!
Lol at Simon seeing two people dancing. Legitimately one of my favorites of the night. Wow, they sound really good together and dance like no one is watching!
