In addition to the amazing storyline, the online multiplayer component of Rise Of Apocalypse offers some exciting features that will amaze you. The X-Men realm is now open for you to explore and a host of exciting challenges await you, as you strive to earn the respect of allies and fellow players.
You can go about mastering new skills, levelling up your powers and earning new powers through the all new 'Powers Tree' - a handy tool that helps you progress through the levels with ease and without any hitches. Compete against the best in this racing game with excellent graphics and amazing supercars. The town hubs change between each of the game's chapters and each one has everything you need just a few steps away. Raven further increased the overall pace of the game by giving you a "town portal" ability that lets you zip back to the hub whenever you want to take advantage of its many amenities, such as the equipment shop or the save game point.
A new portable version of the Danger Room also makes an appearance, and as in the first game you can collect Danger Room programs that allow you to take a break from the main game to hone your skills and complete various challenges for fun and profit. Despite the return of these previous elements, the overall difference between this sequel and the original game can be pretty much summed up by "More! While some of the first game's characters like Magma or Psylocke are missing and others like Beast or Emma Frost only appear as non-player characters, there are plenty of new options to keep you busy.
I particularly liked the ability to play as some of the villains, which satisfies some dark desire we all seem to have. Perhaps the most important outcome of the "More! The powers spread out across a range of uses, such as long-range attacks, buffs to strengthen allies, de-buffs to weaken enemies, damage over time attacks, area-of-effect damage, melee attacks, traps, and a few unique effects like flight or teleportation. These abilities are largely unique to each character, though I'd be hard pressed to explain meaningful differences between some of them, like Bishop's Bio Beam and Cyclops's Optic Beam.
Still, I constantly found myself switching characters in and out of my party just to try them out and to break up the constant slugfest. The extremely well-balanced Nightcrawler, however, remained my number one go-to guy for pretty much the entire game and was just brutally powerful towards the end.
Like many fans of Xmen Legends, I wasn't ready for the game to end. The entire game structure worked and offered an excellent way to experience our favorite Marvel heroes first hand.
Activision apparently agreed and created Xmen Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse with the same gameplay architecture and new features wrapped around it. It does have a similar feel and look to the original, but the new features and functionality will keep the experience from feeling stale. Enjoy life! Dennis14 0 point. I'm getting "Unable to initialise graphics display" error message, has anyone encountered it and has a solution for this? XxDragon 1 point. RogueFan 0 point. Thank you! It worked great!
I just had a few dll issues before starting the game but you just press "ignore" all of the mand it will work fine. I love this game and I wonder if you guys plan on putting Marvel Ultimate Alliance in here for us to download too? Also love that game, would be amazing. Didn't you watch the movie? In case you're wondering, Apocalypse is a mega-supervillain, the likes of which cause good guys and bad guys to form unwilling communions in an attempt to defeat the greater threat This gives the respective allies mainly Wolverine, that masterful aficionado of fine wit a chance to exchange bad insults with mutants of the opposite group and repeatedly express that they don't like one another very much while waving their claws about angrily.
But combine their mutant powers they must for Apocalypse really is a twat of truly epic proportions. Enlisting a team of four mutants from either the X-Men or the Brotherhood, the game typically gives you a list of objectives to complete around a certain area, and then throws a constant stream of enemies at you before you successfully complete your tasks, defeat a boss and continue the story. It almost feels like Freedom Force , in that you control one character at a time while the others are controlled by the Al, and of course it's a superhero RPG - but it's around about there that the similarities evaporate.
